A system pressure advisory has been issued for water consumers in Northwest. Please see the official notice below. A map of the advisory area is attached to this email. This notice has also been posted to the Brunswick County website here.
System Pressure Advisory, PWS ID No. NC-04-10045
The water consumers of Brunswick County Public Utilities located at 3720 to 3878 Judy Lane, 3707 and 3709 Northwest Road, as well as 3600 and 3608 Andrew Jackson Hwy 74/76 in Northwest are experiencing periods of low water pressure and outages caused by a main line break. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back-siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.
Until further notice, Brunswick County Public Utilities and the NC Division of Water Resources advise consumers to boil all water or use bottled water for human consumption. Consumption includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.
Twenty-two (22) connections have been affected, four (4) of which are commercial. Affected customers have been notified via door hanger.
This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued. Brunswick County will provide additional information when this advisory is lifted.
