NW Co. Sewer Smoke Test Announcement
City of Northwest, please listen carefully to the following announcement.
Brunswick County Public Utilities will be conducting smoke testing of the sanitary sewer collections system in the City of Northwest, beginning Monday, August 18th, 2025, through Friday, August 29th, 2025, along Northwest, Sawmill, Smith Trail, Mt. Misery, Vernon, Old Blue Banks, and Blue Banks Loop Roads.
Please be aware that you may see smoke coming from the ground, manholes, sewer piping, roof vents, or gutters. To prevent the possibility of smoke entering your home, ensure water has been run in your sinks, showers or tubs to put water in your P-traps. This acts as a blockage to keep smoke from coming out of the drains in your home.
